Task Force on Policing Seeks Participation on Campus and Community Safety Survey

The President's Task Force on Community Policing invites Terps to take the new UMD Campus and Community Safety Survey to help it better understand individual experiences of and expectations for campus safety. Participation will be used to help the university consider how best to create a physically and emotionally safe environment for all.

The No. 10-seeded Terps men’s basketball team (17-13) will take on second-seeded Alabama (25-6) at 8:45 p.m. today on TNT in the second round of the NCAA tournament, while the second-seeded Maryland women (24-2) will take on No. 15-seeded Mount St. Mary's (17-6) in the first round at 4 p.m. today on ESPN. 

Administrative Leave Offered for Vaccination Appointments

Rythee Lambert-Jones, interim assistant vice president for University Human Resources (UHR) sent the following email to faculty and and staff today: Protecting the health and safety of the campus community during the continuing pandemic remains a priority. As COVID-19 vaccines become more widely available, all university employees are encouraged to get vaccinated when they are eligible to help control the spread of the virus.

Cirovski Wins 400th at Maryland as Terps Topple Michigan

Sasho Cirovski won his 400th match as head coach of the Maryland men’s soccer team as the Terps defeated No. 6 Michigan, 2-1, yesterday at the Legacy Center in Brighton, Mich.

UHR Shares Guidance on Employees’ Extended Spring Break

Frese, Morsell Lead Big Ten Honorees on Women’s, Men’s Basketball Teams

The Maryland women’s and men’s basketball teams took home conference awards this week, highlighted by women’s Head Coach Brenda Frese being voted Big Ten Coach of the Year by her peers and the league's media panel, and men’s senior guard Darryl Morsell being named the 2021 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Pines Extends Spring Break for Faculty, Staff Through March 19

University President Darryll J. Pines sent the following email to all staff and faculty this morning: The past year has been like no other in our history. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every one of us, both personally and professionally. Minor in Robotics and Autonomous Systems Announced

UMD Extends Optional SAT/ACT Tests through 2023 Admission

Art Attack to Return With New Hybrid Format

Student Entertainment Events is reimagining the UMD springtime tradition of Art Attack as a weeklong festival highlighted by a nightly variety show, Liv Brady, SEE's concerts director, announced Friday. Art Attack 2021, running April 26-30, will not have a concert, but will include all types of events, from DIY crafts to game shows, and each night will conclude with an outdoor movie showing and the student variety show competition.
