Ball to Step Down as Vice President for Research
University of Maryland, College Park President Darryll J. Pines and University of Maryland, Baltimore President Bruce E. Jarrell sent the following email to campus leaders on Tuesday. We write to inform you of a transition occurring later this year in the Division of Research at both the University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland, Baltimore. After three and a half years of laudable service, Vice President Gregory Ball will step down this summer from the role of vice president.
AI Commission Report Offers Recommendations for Exploring, Adopting AI Uses on Campus
The President's Commission on Artificial Intelligence’s final report was shared this month with the campus community, culminating its charge by University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines to “explore, evaluate and provide recommendations on the responsible development, deployment and ethical use of AI technologies” at UMD.
