A. James Clark School of Engineering Celebrates 125th Anniversary

Event Yesterday Kicks Off Year of Commemorating Impact

The A. James Clark School of Engineering yesterday kicked off its 125th anniversary on the University of Maryland campus with an event in the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building celebrating its vision and impact.

The school, established in 1894 at what was then the tiny Maryland Agricultural College, has grown in accomplishment and stature with rising global rankings, diversifying enrollment and high-tech new facilities, capped by the record-setting investment of over $219 million from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation.

Today, the Clark School looks back on an enduring tradition of research, learning and innovation, and looks forward to the coming decades, as faculty and graduates continue to change the state of Maryland, and the world, for the better.
