Homecoming 2025 Preview: Football, Fireworks and Other Festivities

Check Out 5 Spirited Selections From the Weeklong Celebration

Fresh off Marcello Hernandez’s recent return as the viral character Domingo on “Saturday Night Live,” the comedian had another audience roaring on Sunday evening, live … from the Xfinity Center.

His headlining performance during Student Entertainment Events’ annual comedy show was just the start of a week of Homecoming celebrations at the University of Maryland.

While buildings across campus are lit up red throughout Spirit Week, Terps can similarly show their pride and score Homecoming swag by wearing each day’s corresponding color: red on Monday, white on Tuesday, black on Wednesday, gold on Thursday and all Maryland colors on Friday. Purchasing the right shade can also earn students, friends, family and alums 10% off at the University Book Center.

Speaking of deals, more than a dozen businesses around Greater College Park will also have specials and discounts, including Potomac Pizza, Shop Made in Maryland and the Greene Turtle. Or satisfy your cravings with the offerings at the Homecoming Food Truck Festival next to Memorial Chapel on Friday afternoon.

As Terps young and old gather to raise high the black and gold, check out five don’t-miss Homecoming highlights—and find the full list of events at homecoming.umd.edu.
