The Challenge: Cheap, Healthy Eats. The Venue: the Campus Pantry

Terp’s YouTube Cooking Competition Returns, With Good Tastes

By Maryland Today Staff

A YouTube show founded by a UMD student to encourage quick, healthy and practical meal preparation is back for another serving.

The new episode of “Terps vs. Pros: Sustainable Food Challenge,” posted yesterday, again pits a student against a Dining Services chef in a cooking competition, this time using only ingredients from the Campus Pantry. Nobody loses—everyone eats.

Host and recent dietetics graduate Patrick Keenan ’19 created the show, sponsored by the University of Maryland Sustainability Fund, to help off-campus students or those who don’t make it to the dining hall fuel the mind and body. In this latest episode, Keenan visits the Campus Pantry, learning about its mission to fight food insecurity in the University of Maryland community.
