A $1.34 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education through its Title IV Centers for International Business program will enable the Center for Global Business (CBG) at UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business to expand its portfolio of programs through 2026. The primary focus will involve applying lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure U.S. companies’ competitiveness into the future.

The university has launched a survey and will host virtual campus conversations for staff members to inform a new staff investment plan. One of the priorities of UMD’s new strategic plan, Fearlessly Forward, is to invest in people and communities, so the university is asking staff to share perspectives on their work life and ideas for improvement on the short survey, which is open until 5 p.m. July 1. Participation is voluntary, and responses will be anonymous.
