College Park News and Happenings is here to help. The weekly email digest produced by the College Park City-University Partnership keeps subscribers up to date on local goings on and news on redevelopment, transportation, education and more.

“It’s a one-stop shop for all of the exciting things that are happening in and around College Park,” said Eric Olson, executive director of the partnership, the local development corporation working to make College Park a top 20 college town by 2020. “There’s a wealth of activities and events going on in College Park every week—a lot more than many people realize.”

Backbeat Underground and Casanovela will perform at 6 and 7 p.m. tonight, respectively, at Little Tavern Park (7413 Baltimore Ave.) as the latest installment of the Outdoor Performance Series, a collaboration between the City of College Park, College Park City-University Partnership, College Park Arts Exchange, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, UMD Office of Community Engagement and UMD School of Music.

The College Park Arts Exchange and the City of College Park’s Recreation Board will present a free outdoor screening of the 2017 Pixar film “Coco” tomorrow at Duvall Field. This “Night at the Movies” will feature arts and activities at 6:30 p.m. with show time at 7 p.m. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs and a blanket and enjoy a fun night out with the whole family!Coco

MilkBoy ArtHouse (7416 Baltimore Ave.) a collaboration between the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and Philadelphia entertainment company MilkBoy, will celebrate its one-year anniversary with an 8 p.m. party tomorrow featuring performances by Paint Branch Creek, along with Rock Creek Revival, Conor and the Wild Hunt.MilkBoy ArtHouse

College Park Day is just around the corner, from noon-6 p.m. Oct. 6 at the College Park Aviation Museum. Visitors at this free event hosted by the city will find kids’ activities, live bands and performers, lots of exhibitors and vendors, and a huge array of food for purchase. Tour the museum and visit the airfield, including several helicopters. Learn about community non-profits, businesses, and government agencies.College Park Aviation Museum

#College Park Scene: Fishnet restaurant (5010 Berwyn Road) might just be your new seafood joint. The cozy and well-reviewed restaurant offers charming outdoor patio seating, decorated with flowers and twinkling string lights, and a rustic interior with bright and colorful walls and a sea theme.
