Terps Unveil Throwback Uniforms for Homecoming Game

Locksley Says ’80s Look Harks Back to Maryland Teams He Grew Up On

By Maryland Athletics Staff

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of college football, the Terps will pay homage to 1980s teams and wear throwback uniforms when UMD hosts Michigan for Homecoming on Nov. 2.

The uniforms will feature the Terps logo in script on the helmets and pants, while jerseys with advanced ArmourGrid technology will evoke traditional mesh material of old, and bring back the classic black, white and gold striping on the sleeves.

“I was raised on the Terps script,” said Maryland Head Coach Michael Locksley. “I fell in love with the teams that donned those uniforms. I remember watching guys like Boomer (Esiason) and Frank Reich guiding the Terps in those uniforms. I know our team will be excited to bring that back for Homecoming.”

Throwback gear is available for purchase for this season only in stores or online.
