The University of Maryland’s main Commencement ceremony has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 21, 2026, due to the forecast for severe weather on Wednesday. The ceremony will still take place in SECU Stadium, honoring Summer 2025, December 2025 and May 2026 graduates.

This change does not affect the school and college schedule of commencement ceremonies.

This year’s main Commencement ceremony will feature a commencement address by astronaut, aerospace engineer and alumna Jeanette Epps, M.S. ’94, Ph.D. ’00.

Visit the Commencement website for detailed FAQs and timelines.
