New Dairy Flavor Celebrates Field Hockey Coach
Field hockey coach Missy Meharg hands out samples of Terpresso ice cream yesterday at the Maryland Dairy.
Students having lunch at the Stamp’s Food Court yesterday got a sweet caffeine boost and a cameo from Maryland’s longest-serving coach.
Dining Services debuted a new ice cream flavor at the Dairy to honor field hockey coach Missy Meharg: Terpresso. It brings together double-strength coffee ice cream with crushed Oreos and a caramel swirl—all among her favorite flavors. (She provided the ideas, taste-tested an early prototype and provided feedback for the final blend.)
Meharg, who’s prepping for her 31st season and has led the team to eight national championships, had a winning strategy for sharing the new snack. She stood behind the counter at the Dairy to scoop out servings of Terpresso. Then she stepped out into the lunchtime crowd to distribute free samples to lucky diners.
