Fencing Club President Ben Cohn and saberist Ramy El-Lissy demonstrate their sport during yesterday's Second Look Fair for students to link up with clubs and activities.

Not all Terps on campus were able to attend September’s First Look Fair. Maybe they were busy. Or they didn’t hear about the two-day showcase of Maryland’s student groups. Or maybe they’re newly arrived transfers and weren’t here yet.

Yesterday, they got their chance to find their thing at the Second Look Fair.

Formerly known as StampFest, the event hosted by the Adele H. Stamp Student Union featured about 200 clubs and organizations, which set up shop across the building’s first floor to show off their accomplishments and attract new members.

Row upon row of booths touted groups ranging from Terpwushu (Chinese martial arts) and CHARGG (women committed to fitness) to the Linux Club (enthusiasts of the free, open-source OS) and UMD Students Ending Slavery (shedding light on human trafficking).

It’s a downsized version of the fall event on McKeldin Mall, but instead of the participants just talking about the different groups they could join, Second Look Fair encourages students to participate in workshops and activities throughout the day.

The University Recreation & Wellness and Health Center featured an agenda of exercise, therapy dogs, sexual health games (along with other learning opportunities) and freebies in the Atrium. Meanwhile, Studio A, formerly known as the Art and Learning Center, held classes on painting, drawing comics and creating ceramics. Students could collect pins encouraging them to "find your thing."
