The rapid adoption of AI is reshaping nearly every industry as it accelerates automation and increases efficiency.  At the same time, the advent of AI has strained natural resources and revealed the need for a workforce that knows how to harness its capabilities and maintain its infrastructure. 

With research that aims to make AI data centers better for the environment, improve self-driving car safety and leverage big data to boost industrial efficiency, Maryland Engineering is developing creative, pragmatic solutions to a range of challenges. And with the introduction of a new engineering AI master’s degree for professionals, the school is equipping professionals with the skills they need to lead in the AI economy.
