No. 14 Maryland (3-1) women’s basketball added a matchup with James Madison (4-1) on Saturday, Dec. 19, the Terrapins announced Friday.
The Terps will host the Dukes at the Xfinity Center. Tip-off time will be announced in the coming days. The Maryland-James Madison matchup will be streamed on Big Ten Network and btnplus.com. Fans can watch with their Big Ten Network+ subscriptions.
Maryland is 10-1 all-time vs. James Madison. In last year's matchup, the Terrapins overcame a 19-point deficit to start the fourth quarter to beat the Dukes, 70-68, in Harrisonburg on Nov. 13. Ashley Owusu drove for the game-winning layup with three seconds to play to seal the victory.
The season will begin with no fans in attendance at the Xfinity Center out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes and fans. Maryland Athletics is hopeful that some fans will be welcomed to the Xfinity Center as the season progresses and health conditions permit.
