Dayne St. Clair ’20 will represent the University of Maryland and Team Canada at the 2026 World Cup. Group play begins Thursday, with Canada set to begin play at 3 p.m. Friday vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An athletic shot stopper with a flair for the dramatic, St. Clair emerged as one of the best keepers in the country over his final two seasons, leading the Terps to the national championship in 2018, his redshirt junior year. The Canadian Youth National Teamer made game-changing saves in Maryland's Elite Eight triumph over Kentucky and in the College Cup Final against Akron. St. Clair also became an on-field leader for the Terps and a favorite among the fans for his emotional play.
St. Clair played every minute of the 2018 campaign and did not concede a goal over the final 500 minutes of the season, including the entire NCAA Tournament. He led the nation in goalkeeper minutes that year and delivered one of the most dominant postseason performances in program history.
