Shyanne Sellers Drafted No. 17 in WNBA Draft to Golden State Valkyries

University of Maryland alumna Shyanne Sellers was selected by the Golden State Valkyries as the No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night in New York.

She is the Terrapins' 23rd WNBA Draft pick and 17th under head coach Brenda Frese.

Sellers earned Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honors and was named a WBCA Coaches' All-America finalist. She earned All-Big Ten First Team honors from the media for the third straight year. She averaged 14.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this past season for the Terrapins.

Sellers finished No. 12 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,676 career points. Her 523 career assists are No. 3 in the Maryland career record book, behind just Debbie Lytle (583) and Kristi Toliver (751). She is the first player in program history with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. Her career free throw percentage of 83% is No. 2 in Maryland history, behind Toliver (86.6%).

Seven other Terps are on WNBA rosters: Chloe Bibby (Golden State Valkyries), Kaila Charles (Dallas Wings), Brianna Fraser (Seattle Storm), Brionna Jones (Atlanta Dream), Diamond Miller (Minnesota Lynx), Alyssa Thomas (Phoenix Mercury) and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (Atlanta Dream).
