University Health Center Pharmacy employee Andrew Kachur draws up doses of the Pfizer vaccine for distribution at the first campus clinic, held Tuesday at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center. A second, limited supply will be available for the campus community next week.

Dr. Spyridon Marinopoulos, University Health Center director, sent the following email message to the campus community today:

I am pleased to inform you that the university has received a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine that will be available to our community next week.

This week we received a limited vaccine supply and prioritized our frontline staff who face barriers to vaccination. We received an additional supply, and will offer all students, faculty and staff the opportunity to schedule an appointment.

If you are interested, please register at myuhc.umd.edu and choose COVID-19 Campus Vaccine as your appointment type. The supply we have received from Prince George's County is very limited, and appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The university strongly encourages everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible. As Governor Hogan announced earlier this week, all Marylanders 16 and older are currently eligible to get vaccinated at mass vaccination sites, and beginning next week, all Marylanders 16 and older will be eligible to schedule appointments and get vaccinated through all providers. If you are unable to receive the vaccine on campus, there are many other options available to you.

As a reminder, all members of our community are expected to continue following the 4 Maryland healthy behaviors and getting tested even after being vaccinated.

Sincerely,

Spyridon S. Marinopoulos signature
