#NowATerp Tour Surprises

UMD Offers In-Person Admission to Four Hopefuls, With Lots of Hoopla

Four applicants to the University of Maryland for Fall 2019 got an unexpected wake-up call of sorts on Sunday: a boisterous, in-person “Congratulations.”

For its annual #NowATerp Tour, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions led a “Publishers Clearing House”-like party of its staff, Testudo, and members of the Mighty Sound of Maryland marching band to homes in Prince George’s County and Baltimore City to knock on the doors of unsuspecting new Terps.

See how they reacted when Shannon R. Gundy, director of undergraduate admissions, handed them their admission letters.
