Thousands of soon-to-be Terps opened their admission letter last week on a website. Four lucky high school seniors just opened their front door.
In the university’s version of the Publisher’s Clearing House sweepstakes, swag-carrying Office of Undergraduate Admissions officials, accompanied by members of the Mighty Sound of Maryland marching band, cheerleaders and Testudo traveled over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to offer admission to four applicants.
Their families—and in one case, an entire neighborhood—were in on the #NowATerp Tour surprise, but you’ll see from the students’ reactions that they definitely were not.
