‘Do Good’ Holiday Greetings

Happy Holidays From Darryll and Sylvia Pines

University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines delivers 2024 holiday greetings to Terps, sharing how UMD students, faculty, staff and alums have been doing good throughout the community this year.

As 2024 comes to a close, I hope the entire University of Maryland family is filled with a sense of accomplishment and the spirit of doing good.

Terps are increasing literacy across our state. They are collaborating with communities to make fresh produce accessible to everyone. They are protecting our watershed and the residents who live beside it.

And what unites all these efforts is our commitment to reimagining learning; taking on the grand challenges of our time; investing in people and communities; and partnering to advance the public good.

As we head into a new year, let us all continue to pursue excellence in all that we do and keep moving fearlessly forward.

From our family to yours, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a very bright new year.
