After defeating Denver, 17–8, in the NCAA quarterfinals on Saturday, the No. 1 Maryland women’s lacrosse team will take on No. 4 Northwestern in its 11th straight Final Four at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Johns Hopkins University.
The winner will take on the victor of Friday’s North Carolina-Boston College matchup in the championship at noon on Sunday.
UMD split its two meetings with Northwestern this season, with the Wildcats handing the Terps their only loss of the year during the Big Ten Championship.
This weekend’s Final Four appearance will be the Terps’ 27th in program history, the most in women’s lacrosse. This senior class, which closed out its career at home with a 45–0 record, is 3–2 overall during Championship Weekend. The team has won 14 national titles, most recently in 2017.
