Virtual Town Hall Planned to Discuss Relaunching of On-Campus Research

By Maryland Today Staff

Vice President for Research Laurie Locascio will host a virtual Town Hall at 2 p.m. tomorrow to discuss the planning and preparation for restarting research activities at the University of Maryland.

The COVID-19 Research Advisory Task Force is developing a report to guide decision-making by university leadership to begin preparations for resuming campus research activities in calendar year 2020 and beyond. Topics include plans to phase in on-campus research activities, building and laboratory preparation required to ready them for reopening, and guidance that will be put in place to prioritize safety.

Additional panelists will include Boris Lushniak, professor and dean of the School of Public Health, and Carlo Colella, vice president for administration and finance.

Questions can be submitted during the event or emailed in advance to academic units’ associate deans for research.
