The University of Maryland Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will participate in National Prescription Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28.
Members of the community can safely dispose of their unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs during the event at the Pocomoke Building (7569 Baltimore Ave.). This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Collection sites will accept tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps; illicit drugs will not be accepted. The DEA will also accept vaping devices and cartridges, provided that lithium batteries are removed.
