UMPD to Host Drug Take Back Day

By Maryland Today Staff

The University of Maryland Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

During this event, members of the community can safely dispose of their unwanted, unused and/or expired prescription drugs at the Pocomoke Building (7965 Baltimore Ave.). This service is free and anonymous. No questions will be asked.

Tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs will be accepted. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps, and illicit drugs will not. The DEA will accept vaping devices and cartridges, provided that lithium batteries are removed.
