UMPD Seeks Donations of School Supplies for Local Children

The University of Maryland Police Department is collecting new school supplies for United Communities Against Poverty, Inc. (UCAP) in hopes of outfitting approximately 35 to 40 children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Donations will be accepted through Aug. 15, and members of UMPD will distribute the new supplies to the children two days later.

Items to donate include: notebooks, learn to write paper, construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, safety and regular scissors. three-ring binders and dividers, ruled paper, composition books, zipper binder pockets, black ink pens, rulers, two-pocket folders, highlighters, calculators and compasses.

Donations can be dropped off anytime at the Pocomoke Building via the service window. UMPD members can also pick items up from any campus location.
