The University of Maryland is among the nation’s top-ranking public institutions when it comes to graduating successful entrepreneurs, according to new rankings from Crunchbase News.
The digital publication, which covers the intersection of technology and money, has been tracking alumni affiliation and startup funding for the past few years. In this case, it looked at which U.S. public universities graduated the most founders of startups that raised at least $1 million since May 2018.
The University of California at Berkeley was the runaway No. 1, with 240, followed by the University of California, Los Angeles with 85. UMD ranked No. 10, with 41.
The list includes schools from all U.S. regions, with the site saying, “No particular region has a lock on graduating funded entrepreneurs.”
