The University of Maryland has been nominated in two categories in the 2020 “Best Of” awards competition sponsored by Unique Venues, an organization for event planning. UMD is on the ballot for “Best Venue for Youth Retreats & Camps” and “Best Venue for Weddings.”
Votes for UMD can be cast through Sept. 18 on the “Best of” ballot, and UMD Conferences & Visitors Services has posted nomination statements online.
UMD Conference & Visitor Services has been recognized with 10 “Best of” awards in five years, including “Best Suburban/Rural Venue,” “Best Venue for Youth/Sports Groups” and “Best Venue for Unique or Locally Sourced Catering.”
The Unique Venues awards recognize standout campuses, conference and business centers, sports arenas, historical and cultural venues, camps and retreat centers, and other special event venues. Last year, more than 55,000 planners who regularly use the services provided by Unique Venues to connect with nontraditional spaces voted in a total of 22 categories.
