UMD Launches Research Data Needs Survey

The University of Maryland Libraries is seeking faculty input to help strengthen campus services and infrastructure supporting research data.

The Division of Research, University Libraries and Division of Information Technology have launched the Research Data Needs Survey to better understand how UMD faculty manage, collect, store, analyze, share and publish research data. Findings will help identify gaps in existing infrastructure, tools, educational resources and consultative services; support compliance with evolving data management and sharing requirements; and inform improvements that can strengthen researchers’ data management plans.

UMD faculty and staff who work with research data are invited to participate in the anonymous survey. Administered by the UMD Libraries’ Open Scholarship Services program, it takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete and will remain open through Oct. 20.
