The university has launched a new series of programs and resources to support faculty and staff supervisors.
A supervisor orientation provides essential tools, resources and insights for supervisors to lead their teams effectively. Topics covered include an introduction to budgeting and fiscal management, HR systems and workforce planning, technology tools, and an overview of policies, regulations and compliance.
In addition, a three-part Excellence in Supervision program aims to maximize supervisors’ effectiveness in leading the work of others. Through this program, they will learn how to create positive work environments and experiences, and foster growth, success, care and inclusive excellence.
All staff and faculty promoted into supervisory positions or joining the university in a supervisory position as of Feb. 1, 2025, are required to complete these two programs. Current supervisors are also welcome to register to further their knowledge and skills.
To learn more about these programs, how to get started and who to contact for more information, visit the Supervisor Hub. The website also includes an updated supervisor toolkit, which includes links to essential policies, procedures and processes that equip supervisors with the knowledge needed to excel in leadership.
