The 25th annual Terp Toy Drive hosted by the UMD Department of Resident Life will make the holidays happier for dozens of local children.
The event was held online during the pandemic this year, with all donations accepted from a new Amazon wish list.
By the Dec. 7 deadline, more than $5,000 worth of donations had been collected, thanks to the generous donations from staff, faculty and students, said Tracy Kiras, assistant director of communications and marketing in Resident Life.
All gifts will be distributed via the city of College Park’s Youth and Family Service, Pregnancy Aid Center, Healthy Families Prince George’s and Jwanzaa Youth Partnership.
