Five lucky students were randomly selected to receive $1,000 each by the Division of University Relations for participating in last week’s Forward campaign activities.
The Terps included Tyler Hilliard ‘29, Karelys Quinonez ‘29, Jony Teklemariyam ‘27 and two winners who chose to stay anonymous.
To celebrate the launch of Forward: The University of Maryland Campaign for the Fearless, which aims raise a record $2.5 billion, University Relations set up six-foot-tall “Forward” letters across different campus locations last Monday through Thursday. Students solved puzzles, submitted selfies and answered the question, “What does Forward mean to you?” for up to 10 entries. (Terps football quarterback Malik Washington even snapped a photo with the letters at McKeldin Mall.)
More than 1,000 undergraduates and graduate students participated, resulting in 2,835 total entries, including 70 students who played the games each day.
