Student Entertainment Events (SEE) will welcome Enya Umanzor and Drew Phillips, creators of the hit podcast “Emergency Intercom,” for its annual spring lecture on Feb. 15.
The lecture, sponsored by The Clarice, will take place at 8 p.m. in the Stamp Student Union’s Grand Ballroom and will feature a 45-minute live podcast followed by a 15-minute moderated Q&A. This event is open to the UMD community, and free tickets can be reserved starting at noon Jan. 29 at umdtickets.com. Tickets do not guarantee entry.
On the podcast launched in 2021, the two comedians share hilarious slices of their lives, from housing troubles and to making friends. It has garnered millions of streams across YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcast.
The duo has also made its mark on the world of high fashion, recently participating in campaigns with Acne Studios, Miu Miu, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Celine and Balenciaga, among others and were most recently featured in Paper Magazine. Umanzor and Phillips also star in the Kyra TV show “Field Trip” on YouTube, which they co-wrote and produced alongside musician Josiah. The series has nearly 2 million views to date.
