Rice to Start as Provost July 1; Wylie to Become Interim Chief Financial Officer

By Maryland Today Staff

President Darryll J. Pines sent the following email to campus leaders today:

I write to inform you that Jennifer King Rice will begin her new role as senior vice president and provost earlier than planned, on July 1. We are thankful for her enthusiasm and readiness to take on the significant role of chief academic officer. I am eager to partner with her as we move Maryland Forward.

I am also grateful that Ann Wylie, who has done a tremendous job as our interim provost over the past five months, will take on the role of interim chief financial officer until our current search for a new vice president for finance and chief financial officer is complete. Dr. Wylie has served our university in many leadership positions during her time here, and I am confident she will do an exceptional job as our financial leader as we look ahead to our next academic year.

Sincerely,

Darryll J. Pines signature
