University of Maryland faculty and staff are encouraged to support the Maryland Charity Campaign, which helps thousands across the state in need, including those affected by COVID-19.
“Recent days, along with the past 18 months, have solidified my belief that Terps have the fearlessness and compassion to be a positive force for change in our community,” university President Darryll J. Pines wrote an email to the campus community today.
There are more than 1,000 MCC charities, including ones that feed the hungry, support mental health, protect families in abusive situations and assist foster children.
Pines highlighted four suggested charities for UMD faculty and staff to support:
- Food Insecurity - Maryland Food Bank, Inc.
MCC Code/EIN: 521135690 - Mental Health - EveryMind
MCC Code/EIN: 520681147 - Foster Children - CASA- Prince George's County, Inc.
MCC Code/EIN: 521772617 - Domestic Abuse - House of Ruth Maryland, Inc.
MCC Code/EIN: 521100236
