Omicron Delta Kappa, the national society that recognizes campus leadership across a range of fields, is now accepting applications for the Fall 2019 semester.
Since 1927, UMD’s Sigma Circle of ODK has honored juniors, seniors and graduate students who have demonstrated leadership in scholarship; athletics; creative and performing arts; journalism, speech and the mass media; and campus or community service.
Among the more than 4,000 members of UMD’s ODK chapter are ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, Rep. Steny Hoyer, UMD women’s basketball coach Brenda Frese and Maryland State Senate President Thomas V. “Mike” Miller. These names—along with many others—are engraved on ODK Fountain, the centerpiece of McKeldin Mall.
Applications are available online and due Sept. 13.
