OCE Hosts Census-centric Video Challenge; Prizes to Total $1,000

By Maryland Today Staff

Have some free time on your hands with social distancing? The Office of Community Engagement suggests putting your TikTok-inspired creativity to use in its Count Me In Video Challenge.

The Count Me In Video Challenge is a creative way to convey to the UMD community in 30 to 90 seconds the importance of filling out the U.S. Census.

Students, student organizations, staff, faculty, schools and university departments are all welcome to participate in the challenge. Fueling civic engagement that will secure funding for UMD and surrounding communities can pay off, too. Prizes totaling $1,000 will be awarded: $500, $300 and $200 to the top three winners.

The submission deadline has been extended to May 15. Visit go.umd.edu/censusvideo for details and guidelines.

Maryland Today is produced by the Office of Marketing and Communications for the University of Maryland community on weekdays during the academic year, except for university holidays.
