The 2020 Homecoming Committee is seeking nominating students for the Spirit of Maryland Award.
The award is presented annually, in lieu of a traditional homecoming king or queen honoree, to two members of the senior class who through their achievements have most exemplified the "spirit" of the University of Maryland. Criteria include outstanding scholarship, leadership, campus involvement, community service and communication skills.
A committee of faculty, staff and alumni interviews students who are advanced to the final round of the application process.
Nominees should have at least 90 academic credits and a grade-point average of 3.0 or above. Students who are expected to graduate by May 2021 but don’t yet have 90 credits may still be eligible to apply.
The completed nomination form must be submitted by 4 p.m. Sept. 28. Upon receipt of a nomination(s), the Stamp will provide nominees with web access to the Spirit of Maryland application.
