New Presidential Search Website Seeks Nominees, Provides Updates

By Maryland Today Staff

Members of the University of Maryland community can nominate candidates to succeed UMD President Wallace D. Loh, who is stepping down after this academic year, on a newly launched website.

“We strongly encourage members of the UMD community to nominate candidates, which can be directed in confidence to our search firm Isaacson Miller, Inc.” Gary L. Attman ‘76, a University System of Maryland regent and chair of the presidential search committee, wrote in an email to the campus community yesterday.

The website also contains information about the search committee, the search firm, the position profile and how to provide input to the search committee. Comments can also be emailed to umcp-presidential-search@usmd.edu.

In addition, the search committee will host two open forums for the campus community to share thoughts and feedback on the search, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Hoff Theater at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union.

Maryland Today is produced by the Office of Marketing and Communications for the University of Maryland community on weekdays during the academic year, except for university holidays.
