Men’s Soccer Earns No. 11 Seed in NCAA Tournament

The Terps came in as the No. 11 seed as the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee announced the field and bracket for the 2018 tournament yesterday. UMD will host the winner of North Carolina State vs. Campbell at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ludwig Field.

Maryland, which fell to Indiana in penalty kicks in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, has won three national titles, in 1968 (co-champs with Michigan State), 2005 and 2008.

The NCAA Tournament’s field of 48 teams includes 24 conference champions as well as 24 at-large teams. Action opens Thursday, with all top 16 teams receiving first-round byes. The College Cup semifinals and championship game will take place Dec. 7 and 9 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Check out the full bracket here.
