The Office of Diversity and Inclusion welcomes the campus community to meet candidates for the director of its Diversity Training and Education (DTE) unit.
DTE provides programming and training focused on diversity, equity and inclusion at UMD. The unit also administers the Words of Engagement Intergroup Dialogue program, a for-credit social justice education program that brings together students of diverse social identity groups for facilitated face-to-face conversations about identity, power and accountability.
The director of diversity training and education leads and is responsible for the success of DTE's programming. The director will develop and execute a comprehensive menu of training with clear objectives. The role will involve significant cross-campus collaboration, with a particular focus on developing data-informed strategies for improving climate within units.
Finalists for the position will give a 30-minute presentation, followed by 20 minutes for answering audience questions. Attendees will receive an anonymous evaluation form after each event to share thoughts and feedback.
Please click on the date below to register individually for each session. All meetings will be held via Zoom and live captioning will be provided. Advance registration and a UMD email are required.
