The University Health Center is hosting Flu-Palooza Week through Friday to encourage students to get vaccinated.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu viruses and the virus that causes COVID-19 will likely spread this fall and winter, making it more important than ever to get vaccinated from seasonal flu.
That can protect individuals’ health while reducing the burden on the health care systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flu vaccine clinics will be held outside the University Health Center emergency entrance from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Register to attend at return.umd.edu or https://health.umd.edu/flushots.
Participants should wear a face covering, bring their University ID or driver’s license and health insurance card and wear a shirt that allows for easy exposure of their upper arm or shoulder.
