Contest Calls for Students’ Best Agriculture Business Ideas

By Maryland Today Staff

Have an idea worth cultivating in the world of agriculture? Student teams can register now for the third Annual AgEnterprise Challenge hosted by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and the Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The competition promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture, natural resources, and environmental sustainability by offering awards to student teams for the best new business ideas in areas such as energy conservation, healthy food systems, public health, water resources and wildlife

Student teams that succeed in the semifinals will deliver business idea pitches to a panel of distinguished judges in the final round. Finalists will compete for $5,500 in awards.

Each team can have up to 10 members, with at least one enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources or conducting research in the Department of Entomology in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences. The online registration form must be filled out and submitted by Nov. 5.
