College Park Metro Station Shutdown Scheduled This Weekend in Preparation for Summer Closure

By Maryland Today Staff

The College Park Metro Station, along with the stations at Prince George’s Plaza and Greenbelt, will close this coming Saturday and Sunday for platform reconstruction work, the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) announced.

Limited shuttle bus service will run between the three stations during the closure, the agency announced. UMD’s 104 College Park Metro Shuttle-UM bus will also continue to operate, the university’s Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) said.

The work is part of the preparations for WMATA’s summer Platform Improvement Project, which will close four Green and Yellow Line stations north of Fort Totten from late May to early September.
