City to Celebrate 10th Annual College Park Day

The 10th annual College Park Day celebration at the College Park Aviation Museum from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday will feature live entertainment from Maryland students and local talent, a huge variety of food from restaurants and vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Expected to attract thousands of people, College Park Day will also include helicopter fly-ins, a beer garden, free museum admission and much more.

Performers include former “The Voice” contestant Funsho, also known as 2012 alum Funsho Adenugba, Crush Funk Brass Band, Fantasm, Cumbia One, Superior Cling Trio and Birds on a Wire along with UMD groups Gymkana and DaCadence and an appearance by Testudo. The event will also feature Mandy the Clown, bubble magic, hula hooping with Joe’s Movement Emporium and roving musicians.

Local festival food and drink options will be available from C.B. Chinese Grill, Mister Magic, the Maryland Dairy, Potomac Pizza, Kodi’s Food Grill, Food by Sani, Heavenly Desserts & Dogs, Thai Amity Kitchen, Pupuseria Maria, Pinkava Coffee, Denizens Brewing Co. and Maryland Meadworks.

Prince George’s County public safety crews, including fire, police, EMS, and bomb squad, will provide public safety demonstrations, and a variety of city vehicles, including a refuse truck, front-loader, Kubota sidewalk plow and more, will be on display. There will also be a snow plow painting activity.

Kid-focused activities will include inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses, pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, face painters, a climbing wall and games.

Visitors can also meet with representatives from more than 60 community nonprofit, university, business, and government agency exhibitors and craft vendors.
