Call for Proposals for Pepsi Enhancement Fund Grants

By Maryland Today Staff

The Review Committee for the Pepsi Enhancement Fund is seeking proposals for program funding for the Spring 2021 semester.

A $50,000 fund, provided by PepsiCo, will underwrite the cost of programs that broadly affect the campus population. For Fall 2020, 58 of 69 proposals were awarded grants, including for Womxn in Symposium, a kidney disease screening event, Careers in Communication, Technica Hacks, Mental Health Awareness Week and Dorm Room Decorating with Studio A.

Each proposal will be measured by the following criteria:

  • Will the event/program contribute to the creation of campus community?
  • Will the event/program appeal to a wide audience of campus citizens?
  • Will the event/program contribute to the advancement of the academic mission of the university?
  • Will the event/program enhance the co-curriculum, enlarging opportunities for leadership, cultural and social exchange, and service to the university and broader community?

Proposals must be submitted at https://stampunion.umd.edu/pepsi/ by 5 p.m. Oct. 21. The Pepsi Review Committee will review them by the end of October, and departments and organizations receiving funds will be notified following the Review Committee meeting. A sponsoring organization may not submit more than two proposals per semester.
