Call for Proposals Open for 2025 Teaching Innovation Grants

By Maryland Today Staff

The University of Maryland is seeking proposals for Teaching Innovation Grants, a program that this year will fund course-based projects integrating Universal Design for Learning principles to foster innovative, inclusive and accessible learning experiences.

Instructional faculty are asked to submit proposals by Feb. 15, 2025, that accommodate all students' diverse needs, abilities and preferences.

Since 2022, the Teaching Innovation Grants program has invested $4 million in 139 projects focused on active and experiential learning and the intersection of education and technology. This year, a minimum of 50 projects will each be awarded up to $10,000.

“As a university committed to the art and science of education, we have collectively embraced a shared strategic commitment to reimagine teaching and learning,” Jennifer King Rice, senior vice president and provost and Marcio A. Oliveira, assistant vice president, Teaching and Learning Transformation Center & Academic Technology and Innovation, said in a message to faculty. “We look forward to receiving a wide array of thoughtful and creative submissions that will drive innovation in education and expand opportunities for our students.”

Detailed information about eligibility, funding priorities and submission guidelines is available on the Teaching Innovation Grant's call for proposals. Contact the Teaching & Learning Transformation Center at tltc@umd.edu with additional questions.
