The President’s Commission on Women's Issues is seeking to recognize members of the university community who have distinguished themselves by working with and for women on our campus and in our community.
The Women of Influence Awards honor of students, staff and faculty who have actively worked on behalf of diverse communities of women. Nominees should be accomplished as University of Maryland members, with evidence of leadership in one or more of five core areas: mentorship, work-life balance, diversity, preventing sexual harassment and community engagement.
PCWI strongly encourages nominations of women of color, women with disabilities, women veterans, immigrant women, LGBTQ+ people, and other underrepresented populations of women. Nominations are welcome regardless of assigned sex and/or gender expression.
The nomination deadline is Dec. 5. Submit nomination packets and direct questions to Ellin Scholnick, faculty ombuds and PCWI chair, at escholni@umd.edu or 301.405.1901.
