Bloomberg Businessweek ranks the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business as the nation’s No. 1 school for Learning and No. 3 for Entrepreneurship in its 2026 Full-Time MBA rankings released on Wednesday.
Smith also placed No. 25 overall in the U.S. in the new rankings, which were based on student and alumni surveys.
The Learning ranking reflects Smith’s distinguished faculty and rigorous, hands-on coursework, where research and real industry experience are brought directly into the classroom. The Entrepreneurship ranking highlights the strength of Smith’s entrepreneurship and innovation electives, its highly successful Technology Management certificate and the pioneering Dingman-Lamone Center.
“Being ranked No. 1 in Learning speaks volumes about the exceptional quality of our teaching, student experiences and experiential learning opportunities,” said Dean Prabhudev Konana.
Bloomberg Businessweek noted that “the College Park-based school is known for strong career placement, particularly where it has deep connections with employers. The school expanded those connections in 2026 with a new Baltimore campus and a Banking Fellows program. It also has put greater emphasis on AI across its graduate programs. Smith has redesigned its MBA offerings, reducing the degree to 48 credits and introducing an accelerated one-year MBA for 2027.”
