The University of Maryland’s updated 2020 football schedule, which features nine games against conference opponents, was released today by the Big Ten.
Maryland opens the season on Oct. 24 with its first-ever trip to Evanston, Ill., to face Northwestern. The Terps start their home slate against Minnesota on Oct. 31, before traveling to play Penn State on Nov. 7.
The team will follow the road trip to State College, Pa., with back-to-back home games against Ohio State on Nov. 14 and Michigan State on Nov. 21.
On Thanksgiving weekend, Maryland travels to Indiana to face the Hoosiers on Nov. 28, before a second consecutive road game at Michigan on Dec. 5. The Terps will then host Rutgers on Dec. 12.
Maryland’s ninth game, on Dec. 19, will be part of Big Ten Champions Week—East vs. West, pitting the Terps against a cross-divisional opponent, with the top two teams playing in the Big Ten Championship. Details surrounding Big Ten Champions Week will be announced later.
All kickoff times and broadcast information will be released at a later date. Special date games, including Fridays, will also be determined and announced later.
Under guidance from the Prince George’s County Health Department, Maryland is preparing to begin the season with no fans in attendance. While there will be no football season tickets for the 2020 season, Maryland Athletics is developing innovative ways to keep fans part of the game. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
