Applications Closing Nov. 4 for $320K From Do Good Campus Fund

By Jenny Cox

The deadline to submit applications for the second annual round of awards from the University of Maryland’s Do Good Campus Fund is Nov. 4. Senior Vice President and Provost Jennifer King Rice and the Do Good Institute, in collaboration with the Do Good Campus Strategic Leadership Council, will award at least $320,000 this academic year to faculty, staff and student groups.

A webinar at noon on Monday will provide details on how to apply.

In its first year, the Do Good Campus Fund provided more than $460,000 to support 27 projects that tackle pressing issues, from using data and experiential learning to address student hunger on campus, to partnering with local schools and libraries to promote media literacy.

“Building off a successful first year of the Do Good Campus Fund, I’m thrilled to begin seeing the impact of our inaugural round of grantees as they implement their projects alongside the impressive level of ambition of a whole new crop of applicants,” said James Stillwell, associate clinical professor and faculty director of the Do Good Campus. “Across campus, in our communities, and around the world, Terps from every discipline clearly have a strong appetite to do good.”

Staff and faculty can apply for Do Good Campus Fund grants of $5,000-$35,000, while student groups can apply for $5,000 grants. For any questions, please contact dogoodcampusfund@umd.edu.
