# Terps Gear Up for March Madness

The UMD men’s and women’s basketball teams have dominated their opponents during their second season in the Big Ten. With Selection Sunday just around the corner, take a look back at some highlights from this winter:

- The Maryland men’s team started Big Ten conference play on Dec. 30 ranked No. 4, beating Penn State 70–64. Diamond Stone racked up 39 points, the most ever by a Maryland freshman, and had 12 rebounds. Photo by Greg Fiume

- Maryland cruised to an 88-63 win over Rutgers on Jan. 6. Jake Layman scored 18 points; Rasheed Sulaimon added 15. Photo by Greg Fiume
